I’ll work with you on a nutrition plan based on your lifestyle and what you also feel is achievable. I’ll also make sure you stay accountable for what you’re eating. This is where we analyse your current diet and what needs to be improved. I often find most people aren’t eating enough vegetables and hydrating with water. Weight loss starts with you and the decisions you make with your fork.

Depending on where you are on your journey I will give you an overview of what to eat, we may agree on macros from the caliper analysis or dexa scan but the approach needs to work for you. I’m not big on supplements as these are an afterthought to a good diet. It’s better to eat healthy and cut out junk food and alcohol as opposed to having a magic pill mindset.


What I see frequently with my female clients is a lot of instability in the hips and core area, so we’ll assess this first and work on correcting this in the future to ensure that you can progress over time to exercises that will help you grow lean muscle, speed up your metabolism and help burn more calories. Establishing a strong core also improves posture, helps you stand tall and increases movement function long term. Improving stability back into the glutes, hips and lower back is also important as it will help you feel stronger, and give you more stability as you’re undertaking tasks throughout the day.

My process and philosophy is simple – To be strong, you must first have a strong foundation.


Together, we will assess your body’s strength and level of fitness through a variety of exercises. We will find out:

  • How your body physically moves
  • Where your body has restricted flexibility
  • Where your muscles are weak or do not engage properly, which can cause stability problems or poor posture

You may not realise it, but your lifestyle can have a big impact on your muscles and your body’s natural movement. Sitting at a desk all day, slouched behind a computer screen can result in weakened glutes, back and core muscles. Similarly, wearing high heels everyday will cause tightness and strain on your hips, pelvis and calf muscles.

We will repair your body’s problem areas through stretching and movement exercises. This will help re-build your body’s strong foundation, and will assist in preventing injuries.

During this phase, we not only aim for exercises that serve a remedial purpose, but also assist in fat loss and build muscle.


I will create a personalised training program designed to help you achieve the best results possible. In my program, we begin by working your core posterior chain (glutes, hamstrings, lower back, and upper back) through a series of stretching and strengthening exercises. While your goal may be weight loss, it’s also important to keep a focus on building muscle to help boost your metabolism, which helps the body burn more fat while at rest.


I am not a nutritionist, however we will look at what you are eating and why. I will show you the most nutritional foods you should nourish your body with, and the foods you should avoid. We will also spend 2-3 weeks tracking your calories, so you can get a better understanding of how your body uses and stores body fat as energy.


When you look at the scales and see a number, you are not seeing a true indication of your body weight. The scales can show your overall weight, but they cannot break it down into your current muscle mass, fat mass, or your levels of water retention. As you follow my program, the number on the scales may change, but our main focus will be on how much body fat you’ve lost, and how much muscle you’ve gained. What is measured is managed, What is managed creates results.

According to the HeartFoundation.org, if your waistline measurement is over 80cm (about 31.5 inches) you are at risk of serious health issues, such as diabetes, heart problems, hypertension, and high cholesterol.

I will monitor your measurements throughout my program, and will also arrange a DEXA scan, which is important in determining your levels of visceral and subcutaneous fat. Visceral is the dangerous internal fat that surrounds your organs. Subcutaneous fat is the ‘jiggly’ fat that exists on the outer abdominal wall. The good news? It’s never too late to make a drastic change to your lifestyle with proper nutrition and exercise, and get your health back on track.
